Following our historic merger with Manufactured Yorkshire, Made in Yorkshire aim to host a record amount of events throughout this calendar year to further showcase the great work of local manufacturers.

We are pleased to announce that our first event of the year will be hosted on Thursday 2nd February at 3M Buckley Innovation Centre in Huddersfield. You can register tickets to the event by visiting this link.

The 3M Buckley Innovation Centre (3M BIC) facilitates business growth through a range of dedicated technical, professional and commercial support services, as well as encourages business to business and business to academia collaboration with the University of Huddersfield.

The event will present members with a fantastic opportunity to explore ‘Innovation Avenue.’ This means that businesses can explore the technologies and expertise available at the Centre and the University of Huddersfield to develop innovative products and services. It is both a shop window on the future and an inspirational place to bring your ideas.

Additionally, Made in Yorkshire Platinum members, Portakabin are hosting the next event one month later on Thursday 2nd March at their York premises. Portakabin are the world-leader in modular building innovation, so if you are interested in meeting members near York, please register to the event here.

Portakabin operate in seven countries and employ more than 1,600 people in the UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and Holland. Since the company was founded as a pioneering manufacturer of portable and modular buildings, they have continued to innovate and develop exceptional buildings that meet the challenges of efficient, sustainable, high-quality construction.

During their 50 years in operation they have manufactured more than 50 million square feet of accommodation for a huge variety of applications, from offices, nurseries and classrooms to hospital wards, call centres and laboratories. This event will be a fantastic showcase of an industry-leading company and a great chance to learn how they operate.

Made in Yorkshire Director, Chrissie Gale stated: "Creating opportunities within manufacturing is at the heart of Made in Yorkshire and our events are a key factor to making this happen. We understand our members needs and broker introductions during our events based on this knowledge.

“The result: increased regional supply chain, collaboration projects, hot off the press updates, raised awareness of the many phenomenal under-the-radar manufacturers that we have in Yorkshire; small and large. Our members understand the need to connect with other manufacturers face-to-face on a regular basis to build these relationships and be stronger together.”

Finally, we will be hosting the first joint Made in Yorkshire and Manufactured Yorkshire exhibition on Wednesday 10th May. This is the biggest manufacturing exhibition in the Yorkshire region. The event will be hosted at the pristine Centenary Pavilion at Leeds United’s home ground, Elland Road. We will be announcing further details throughout the upcoming weeks, regarding industry-leading speakers and much more.

The event is FREE for Made in Yorkshire members, friends, patrons, manufacturing and engineering businesses and companies with a vested interest in manufacturing including: buyers, purchasers, procurement teams, official partner and sponsors. You can already purchase your tickets by clicking this.
