Made in Yorkshire have officially merged with Manufactured Yorkshire, with the ultimate goal of unifying the manufacturing sector in Yorkshire within a post-Brexit Great Britain.

This is a fantastic move for Yorkshire manufacturers and engineering companies as this now enables thought leadership and best practice to be shared all year round and not just on a one day event. Made in Yorkshire is a sister company of Made in the Midlands which is now a group of MDs and CEOs representing around £3.6 billion of Midlands industrial turnover, around 340 firms including some of the best firms in the sector.

Made in Yorkshire CEO, Jason Pitt said: “We are delighted to merge with Manufactured Yorkshire. The exhibition has grown into the most popular manufacturing showcase within the Yorkshire region, so we are eager to combine our passion in celebrating the achievements of Yorkshire manufacturers. Made in Yorkshire peer group now offers manufacturers their own company microsite, breakfast events, networking opportunities and a stand at Manufactured Yorkshire.”

This year, Manufactured Yorkshire attracted around 800 delegates from Engineering, Food & Drink and Textiles to Elland Road in Leeds. The exhibition boasted a variety of industry-leading speakers including the Director of Manufacturing at Rolls Royce, Dr Hamid Mughal and Jaguar Land Rover’s Supply Chain & External Engagement Manager, Michael Mychajluk.

Manufactured Yorkshire Director, Chrissie Gale stated: “Merging the event with Made in Yorkshire makes perfect sense for Yorkshire manufacturers. Made in the Midlands now attracts over 2,000 representatives of the manufacturing sector to the world-class Ricoh Arena and throughout the year brings key site leaders together to discuss mutual opportunities and share best practice. Using the experience and support of the Midlands team, Made in Yorkshire is set to follow in the footsteps of becoming a massive benefit to the region’s manufacturers.”

Pitt concluded: “Made in Yorkshire is more than a networking group, we want to strengthen and build a digital legacy for Great British industry. Our platform will offer a complete marketing suite for manufacturing firms in the Yorkshire region.”
